Foundation Degree (FdA) Professional Photography – City of Bristol College
This show presents the culmination of the photography student’s two years of study and hard work before progression to Plymouth University, UWE Bristol or freelance photographic practice.
The work on show ranges from refined, sophisticated, studio shooting, abstract monochrome architectural forms, engaged street portraits and urban storytelling, exploring the lives and experiences of the under-represented.
The course draws upon Bristol’s photographic culture, publishing professionals and industry mentors in addition to offering academic support and challenges.
‘Each year, the feel is radically different from the last; this year portraits have featured strongly in the student’s work. The confidence of the students has increased hugely over the time they have been with us, due in part to the fantastic experiences that our professional partners offer them’.
Becky Goddard, course leader.
Award winning portrait photographer Richard Ansett, documentary photographer Kirsty MacKay, photographic artist Jocelyn Allen and producer Alex Acin are just a few of the visiting professionals who work with the photographers while they’ve been on the course.
The student’s works will be for sale throughout the exhibition and they are also all available for commissioned work; the photographer’s will be invigilating the show so come and find out more about their work and the course.
Everyone is invited; entry is free and visitors will be able to view the work and engage with the photographers.
